Functional Capacity
Assessments (FCA)
A comprehensive evaluation of your functional impact and support needs—essential for NDIS plan reviews and support justification.
What is an FCA?
A Functional Capacity Assessment (FCA) is a comprehensive evaluation of a Participant's functional impact and support needs. Carried out by our experienced clinicians, it provides clear evidence of how your disability affects your everyday life and what supports you need to participate safely and independently. An FCA is essential for NDIS plan reviews, as it helps the NDIA understand your current capacity and justify the supports in your plan.
Assessment Criteria
Our FCAs cover the key areas of daily life that the NDIS considers when determining your support needs:
- 1Self-care
- 2Mobility
- 3Communication
- 4Social Interaction
- 5Learning
- 6Self-management
Supporting Plan Reviews
Following your assessment, we provide a detailed report that is submitted to the NDIS. This report clearly outlines your functional capacity, the impact of your disability on daily activities, and the supports you need. It is used to justify support hours, applications for Supported Independent Living (SIL) or Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA), and requests for Assistive Technology—so you and the NDIA have a clear, evidence-based picture of your needs.
Our goal is to ensure your plan reflects your true support requirements, so you can live life to the fullest with the right level of care.
